After visiting all the presidential graves,
I needed a new travel hobby. I still go to cemeteries for famous
gangsters and others, but I wanted something with a list.
When I was in New Jersey, I saw a direction sign for Rutgers and
thought "I always wondered where Rutgers was". Likewise
Villanova near Philadelphia and Vanderbilt in Nashville. I realized
there were dozens of famous colleges with non-geographic name around
the country (Notre Dame, Pepperdine). So I started my newest
photo collection. I had always wondered where . . .
My only rules: Major colleges (whatever that means) as every city has
a "Joe Johnson College". No state or city name unless the
city is small and essentially named after the university (ex: Auburn,
AL; Princeton, NJ) |
