New York Mets (May 1995) |

Rockford Cubbies (April 1996) |
|
I had just started my new job and started to travel again. On my
first ever business trip to New York City (actually New Jersey), I
talked two of the students into heading down to Shea. There we saw
"Mr Met" and caught this picture. He hides his tongue and
sticks it out just as the picture is taken, what a corker! |
|
I was in Rockford, Illinois and checked my map and schedule. The
Cubbies were home for an early season game, and their mascot was this
cute teddy bear. Beloit was just 25 miles up the Interstate. The
Cubbies were later renamed then relocated to Dayton, Ohio. Bye Cubbie-Bear. |

Beloit Snappers (April 1996) |
|
Dunedin Blue Jays (May 1996) |
|
After the Cubbies on Tuesday, it was the Snappers on Thursday. The
early spring weather was damp and chilly, and the players actually
outnumbered the fans. Snappy circled the stadium and spent 'personal
time' with each small group. It was one of the best games I've ever
seen, won in the bottom of the 9th with a two run homer. |
|
Lyn was feeling worse and worse, finally going in for back surgery.
Jesse and I spent a lot of time together, here visiting the Dunedin
Blue Jays. This is a picture of Jesse with Blooie the mascot. We
caught a gift frisbee and had it autographed by Mr Rubbish. Now,
THAT's minor league baseball at its finest! |
