I discovered 3D photography in March of 2002, when looking for
websites about travel to Paris. We had just purchased a digital
camera for Christmas, and I was getting fully acquanted with it.
Since digital pictures are 'free', I started this little
experimentation area.
I was surprised at how easy it was to display using the utility from
Andreas Pastersik. This small piece of java is loaded on the server,
and pre-processes the images requiring no additional software on the
client brower. Of course, the browser must be java ready.
You simply save a double image ('cross-eyed' mode) as a jpg, then
invoke the viewer. The person viewing can then select from a dozen
different display modes including 'cross-eyed', 'parallel', and
over-under, and color version compatible with 3D glasses like
Red-Cyan and Red-Green. All you have to do, as the author, is load up
his utility and post the pictures. The utility does the rest.
Link here to see Andrew's site. When I actually take some pictures
that are interesting, I intend to have him list my site on his link page. |
