At twenty-three months, Jesse was old enough to sit and
"help" with egg dying, without actually understanding the
purpose or tradition. We simply dyed the eggs in basic pastels with
no decorations or fancy artwork this year. We had more than enough
fun with making them colors |

In the morning, it was the little guys year to search for the eggs
(so the Easter bunny was careful not to hide them anywhere too challenging).
Putting up this page today, it has been fun for all of us to relive
and enjoy Jesse contagious smile and inseparable water bottle from
that age. He was always a delight to us. |

Lyn's Dad wanted Jesse to have a red tricycle for spring |
Dave's dad helped with "some assembly required" |

In Michigan, Easter is the start of spring and Jesse was going to be
taking his first steps outside as soon as the warm weather appeared.
After buying the giant Panda teddy bear at Christmas, Lyn's dad
wanted to make sure that Jesse had a shiny new red tricycle for the
first warm day of spring. Dave's dad was over visiting and helped
with the assembly project, so the bike was ready to go. Everybody
enjoyed watching Jesse grow up right before our eyes. |

Lyn's mom offered to host a family Easter dinner, so all we had to do
was bring her grandchild, his new tricycle and our appetites. Grandma
loved to give gifts, and certainly wouldn't let Easter pass by
without them (afterall, Christmas was 3 months previous and Jesse's
birthday was a full six weeks away). She had a tradition of hiding
large hollow eggs with a note describing a small gift (toy airplane,
bubble pipe, etc) and everybody traditionally retired to the front
lawn to play with the small springtime toys. |
