Although it doesn't seem possible, we can find no pictures from this
Christmas. It was a difficult time. Dave lost his job in February,
and had been working in Utah since August. Lyn and Jesse had returned
to Dearborn to sell the house, and it had been on the market for six
months and three realtors. Dave came home monthly, at Halloween,
Thanksgiving, and now Christmas. It was sad to put up the tree, as it
symoblized the fact that houses rarely sell over the holidays.
On the other hand, Dave had been working with our builder and
architect in Utah, and brought back the nearly finished blueprints
and several photos of copy cat homes to show everybody. However, his
return flight after the holidays was our lowest point, pointing to
the notion that the house may not sell for months.
Unknown to us, on January 10th our third realtor would present a
buyer, a local family from the neighborhood. The house sale would
close at the end of January, and in early February we would be packed
and on our way out west for our "Trip
Across America". |
