Jesse enjoyed the adventures of Captain Jean-Luc Picard, Wesley
Crusher and the others on Star-Trek, The Next Generation. Lyn's mom
had a neighbor in Michigan that did tailoring as a part-time
profession and had this costume made from a pattern. It was made
large enought to fit a growing boy for three full years.
Lyn provided the communicator pin she had picked up at a Trekky
convention years before. |

The house in Utah was so large and situated on such a commanding
bluff that we quickly realized it was a challenge to decorate for
holidays. Instead of not bothering (like our neighbors), we made
'over the top' efforts, like carving these six full size pumkins
(along with lighted plastic ones too) to be placed stratgically among
the ten full size picture windows.
Almost everybody commented about how we did things differently, and
we always took that to be a compliment, even though it was rarely
meant as one. |

All the kids went in costume to school and the parents came to enjoy
the pagent. Jesse's Star Trek outfit was a hit and we felt lucky that
we hadn't dressed him (sarcastically) as a Mormon missionary when two
other little boys came that way and every mother there chanted 'Oh my
heck, its a missonary and his companion!'. (puke!)
This is a great picture of Anna enjoying seeing Dana and Katie. |
