As a homeschooling writing project, we decided to challenge each
other to start a series of short stories about ordinary lives of
ordinary people in an ordinary town. We would each take turns telling
a short story, then weave the characters in and out of each other's
lives. If done correctly, the result should be somewhere between
"Our Town" and "Lake Wobegon". The characters,
events, and places should be ordinary, realistic, and whereever
possible, optimistic. Starting with the town's name: Deerfield.
To keep the stories straight, and to allow weaving, we need a
cross-refence of people, places, events. Here is the current
information, updated as each story is written. Brakets denote major mention. |
