This is a book that should be read by every
teenager and young adult. It addresses the omissions and half truths
and lies told to us by our first "intimate partners".
The betrayals that turn into years of pain, and influence us into
dysfunctional choices that would be destined to affect our future
because of the heartache at such an impressionable age.
It not only describes what goes through a person's
mind when they have discovered that they were lied to by someone they
trusted with their whole mind, and body. But the book goes on to help
the victimized person learn how to recover from the incessant pain
and distrust that has been imprinted on their once trusting soul.
I wish I had read it 30 years ago. It would have
changed my life drastically.
It could also be used as a preventative measure. A
book of insights into the mind and actions of a liar and cheat.
A dictionary that can help to decipher what exactly is being said to
you, instead of you only having sing song wives tales and Hollywood
themes about love, trust and betrayal to guide your impressionable soul.
It also is a book that gives you hope. Hope
that you can learn to trust again, even if you have been absolutely
shattered and broken when it comes to letting someone share the
intimacy that is you.
