In
the morning, we returned to the ferry dock and sailed from Levis to
Quebec. We drove around "Upper" and "Lower"
Quebec City. |
|
We
drove around one last time before leaving. This row of shops and
cafes was both picturesque and typical of the different parts of this
lovely town. It was here that I had my parking "incident".
While backing to a parallel spot, I underestimated the length of the
rental van and rubbed the side door along a parked cars bumper. For
the rest of the trip, every time I would back up to park, we would
chime up in our false french accent "Crounche". |
|
Jesse
was interested in seeing the "Citadel"
the historic fort now replete with costumed reenacters. Lyn and
Jesse walked about while I drove around for one last look at the
city. Although he doesn't show well, Jesse is standing near the rail
on the upper level.
From Quebec we drove east, following the northern shore of the St
Lawrence, and spent the night in San Simeon. |
|

Before leaving Quebec, we loaded up on French souvenirs and took lots
of pictures of French language commercial signs. These were some of
my favorites. (Shown larger so you can read them).
KFC becomes PFK (Poulet Frit de la Kentucky). The "New Chicken
Croustilants" have arrived (whatever they are). |
|
Let's
see, "The Lovely Province" restaurant has a "New
Lunch Menu" and a "Lunch Buffet" (Enter here). |
|
Let's
see. Chat is cat, Botte is boots, Chaussures is shoes. Oh. "Puss
and Boots Shoe Store". Also the "National Bank",
which is open "Day or Night". |
