Lyn and Jesse went out to dinner with friends the night before the
trip in order to have someone drop them off at Tampa
International Airport to pick up the Hertz rental car. Even
though Lyn had called ahead to make sure that the car was ready there
was a problem when she got to the airport. People were being turned
away for lack of cars. Lyn was promised on the phone that her Grand
Marquis would be ready with a NeverLost. We wanted the NeverLost
for the trip and had checked on its availability twice that day and
both times were assured that the car would have the Navigation device
and be ready for her. We usually rent a the St.Petersburg/Clearwater
Airport to avoid the congestion and pick-up inconvienence of
Tampa International Airport but could only get confirmation of the
NeverLost through Tampa International Hertz. Never the less, when Lyn
did arrive and had to wait for over an hour for the car, she was told
they did not have one with a NeverLost and she could try and come
back in the morning to see if one had come in. Needless to say Lyn
was less then happy with Hertz.
Becasue the NeverLost was going to be a great asset to our trip Lyn
decided to postpone leaving in the morning from 9 am to noon. Lyn
called Tampa International Hertz the night before and requested that
they call her if a car came in with a NeverLost. In the morning
she called once again to find that indeed a car had come in and that
the manager of the gargae would hold it for her, all she had to do
was drive the rental she currently had all the way back to Tampa and
exchange it. Lyn drove back to Tampa exchanged the car and
drove back home picked up Jesse packed the car and was finally on her
way to Tallahasse at 1PM.
Becasue of the late start Jesse and Lyn decided to skip thier
scheduled stop in Weeki Wachee
Springs and just drive on to Tallahasse. Lyn and
Jesse noticed that along Highway 19 North in Florida starting above
Weeki Wachi, the medians of the highway were covered in little red
flowers. They spent a good deal of time trying to decide if these
were natural wild flowers or if someone had come along and spred
seeds. The outcome was peaceful and breathtaking, so much so that
neither of them remembered to stop and take pictures. They both
promised themselves to drive back up at a later date and try and find
those areas in order to find out what kind of flowers they were and
to take pictures.
After a quick stop in Perry, Fl at the Hardee's for a drink, Lyn and
Jesse were on our way into Tallahasse. They wanted to try and find the
